“God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Gen 1:27 (NIV)

Several years ago, after our granddaughter was born, we were all so excited that she was finally here. Everyone was talking about the different family members she resembled or who she may become as she grows up. As I listened, I will never forget the Holy Spirit speaking to me so clearly saying, “You think she looks like your different family members, but she looks like me. I made her in my image!”

How powerful is that statement! God loves us so much He made us in His image. We may favor some of our family members, but we reflect His image, and it doesn’t stop there- He lives inside us! So often in our busy lives, we forget how much He loves us and how much He cares about every detail. God wants to dwell inside us, and with us, through every good time and rough time, He never leaves our side. We are His place to call home, His place of residence. When we recognize the love that God has for each one of us, then we become more aware of the authority we have in Christ. We have the power to heal the sick, mend broken hearts, and help those in need as we follow the instructions Jesus gave His disciples in Matthew 10:5-8. His plan is for us to love others freely (John 13:34), just as He loves us. My encouragement to you is to learn to be His voice and show His love!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I pray the Holy Spirit opens the eyes of my heart to receive and feel Your love. I pray that Your place to call home is always in my heart and life, and I surrender everything to You. I ask that others will see your image in me and receive your love through me. May the words I speak reflect the Holy Spirit’s anointing that dwells within me. I desire to live in Your Presence. I love you, Jesus.
